Adult Connections in Education faciliates the engagement of students with intellectual diabilities to participate in post-secondary education. University attendance can enhance learners academic and life skills. Embracing new challenges and experiences is part of lifelong learning and, as such, encourages independence and personal growth.
The philosophy of the ACE Program is consistent with the structure of the University. The program is part of the University's mission, which is to encourage and assist students to acquire the skills and knowledge that would contribute to the development of their own potential. All individuals should have equal opportunity to benefit from post-secondary education experiences and learning. The program combines classes, study, extracurricular activities, time with peers, and work experience.
